In the two decades after World War II, a vibrant cultural infrastructure of cineclubs, archives, festivals, and film schools took shape in Latin America through the labor of film enthusiasts who often worked in concert with French and France-based organizations.

Every year, the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Georgia honors outstanding faculty who have shown "a sustained commitment to high-quality instruction" through the Sandy Beaver Excellence Award.

New York, NY – 6 December 2023 – The Modern Language Association of America today announced its thirty-third annual Katherine Singer Kovacs Prize for an outstanding book published in English or Spanish in the field of Latin American and Spanish literatures and cultures.

LACSI is pleased to announce that Dr. Diana Graizbord, Assistant Professor of LACS and Sociology, was notified in December of 2022 that she has received a Franklin College of Arts and Sciences Sandy Beaver Excellence in Teaching Award!
