The requirements for a LACSI minor are:
- A minor must contain at least 9 hours of upper division course work.
- Courses taken to satisfy Core Areas I through V may not be counted as course work in the minor.
- Courses taken in Core Area VI may be counted as course work in the minor.
Students seeking a minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies must complete 18 hours as follows:
Required Course: (3 hours)

Electives: (15 hours)
|One Latin American History course (HIST 2221 or HIST 2222)||3|
|An advanced course in one language from the region (SPAN 3010 or SPAN 3010H or PORT 3010 or FREN 3010 or FREN 3010H )||3|
Three LACS courses representing two or more of the three areas of Latin American and Caribbean Studies (scroll down to the "Major Requirements" section):
