LACSI's Fall Semester Latin American Ethnobotanical Garden Tours

Latin American Ethnobotanical Garden

For over 2 decades, educational tours of the Latin American Ethnobotanical Garden (LAEG), have been provided to units throughout UGA.

The garden was constructed under the direction of LACSI’s first director and ethnobotanist, Dr. Brent Berlin.

If you are interested in scheduling a fall semester 2023 class/group tour or making use of the space for an event/activity at any time of the year, please communicate with LAE Garden Curator, Ms. Nunally Benzing (Nunally.Benzing@uga.edu).

To date, UGA faculty from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Environment and Design, and the Odum School of Ecology have integrated LAEG tours into undergraduate course curricula.

We also encourage UGA student organizations and Athens-area community groups/organizations to schedule a fall semester tour of this unique UGA instructional resource!

*Tours can be Scheduled September-November of 2024
