Zoom

On Thursday, January 20th UGA's Department of History will be hosting Dr. Ethan Blue. Dr. Blue is an associate professor of history at Western Australia University. He is also the author of Doing Time in the Depression: Everyday Life in Texas and California Prisons (NYU Press, 2012).

Dr. Blue will give a presentation on his most recent book, The Deportation Express: A History of America through Forced Removal (University of California Press, 2021), followed by a Q & A session. The eBook is available through the UGA library. While encouraged, it is not necessary to be familiar with the book to participate in the event.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:00PM - 7:45PM and will be held via zoom. In addition, he will be hosting a Meet and Greet session with graduate students at 6:30 pm. Please email me if you wish to attend.

Lastly, please see the attached flier for more information, and a link to register for the event. You can also find the event on the department’s website.

If you have any questions about the event, please reach out to Libia Jiménez Chávez, lj99948@uga.edu
